Terms of Service

Effective date: August 14, 2026

These Terms of Service govern paid engagements with Impression Foundry, a New Jersey-based resume-writing and career-document service. Please read them before purchasing a service.

By checking the Terms acceptance box when submitting a request and then paying for a confirmed engagement, you agree to these Terms as they exist when the engagement is confirmed. Services are offered only to clients located in the United States, and you must be at least 18 years old to purchase them.

1. Services, scope, and engagement confirmation

Impression Foundry provides resume writing, LinkedIn profile writing, related career documents, and written resume assessments. The studio does not recruit for employers, place candidates, or procure employment.

Submitting a request does not obligate you or Impression Foundry to proceed. If the studio confirms fit and availability and you decide to proceed, you will receive a written confirmation before payment. The confirmation identifies the service, price, scope, expected turnaround, included revision round, and any purchased add-ons.

These Terms and the written confirmation together govern the engagement. If they conflict on a service-specific detail, the written confirmation controls for that engagement. Anything not identified as included is outside scope and may require a separate fee or engagement.

2. Payment, cancellation, refunds, and payment disputes

Payment is due in full before work begins unless the written confirmation states otherwise. Work begins when Impression Foundry reviews your completed intake or materials, or begins research, analysis, drafting, editing, or other substantive work for the engagement, whichever occurs first.

If you cancel before work begins, the studio will refund the amount paid, less any non-refundable third-party transaction fees where permitted by law. After work begins, fees are non-refundable except where applicable law requires otherwise or these Terms expressly provide a refund.

If Impression Foundry cancels an engagement before completing the purchased work, the studio will refund the portion of the fee reasonably attributable to work not performed. Except where applicable law provides otherwise, that refund is the payment remedy for a studio cancellation.

If a payment is reversed, disputed, or charged back while an engagement is in progress, Impression Foundry may pause work and withhold further deliverables until the payment issue is resolved. A payment dispute does not expand the refund rights stated in these Terms, but nothing here limits rights that applicable law or a payment-network rule does not permit you to waive.

3. Your information, accuracy warranty, and prohibited requests

You are responsible for providing complete, truthful, and accurate information, completing requested intake materials, responding to reasonable questions, and reviewing drafts and final documents carefully.

You represent and warrant that the information and materials you provide are accurate to the best of your knowledge, that you have the right to provide them, and that their use for your engagement will not violate another person's rights.

The studio relies on the information you provide and does not independently verify employment history, credentials, accomplishments, dates, compensation, education, licenses, or other factual statements. You are solely responsible for confirming the factual accuracy of final materials before using or submitting them.

Impression Foundry will not knowingly invent or materially misrepresent credentials, degrees, employment, accomplishments, or other facts. The studio may refuse a requested change, suspend work, or terminate an engagement if you ask it to fabricate or misrepresent information, provide unlawful or infringing material, engage in abusive or threatening conduct, or materially breach these Terms.

If an engagement is terminated because of your material breach or prohibited conduct, the studio may retain amounts reasonably attributable to work already performed, reserved capacity, and nonrecoverable costs, subject to applicable law.

Do not provide Social Security numbers, financial account numbers, passwords, government identification numbers, full birth dates, medical records, or other highly sensitive information that is not reasonably necessary for the engagement. Impression Foundry may delete or redact such information if received.

4. Turnaround, delays, inactivity, and completion

For a single document, the first draft is delivered within 5 business days of your completed intake. Where rush delivery is purchased, one document's first draft is delivered within 2 business days of your completed intake. A business day is Monday through Friday, excluding U.S. federal holidays.

Your intake is complete when the studio confirms receipt of the completed questionnaire and any materials reasonably required to begin. For The Full Impression, the resume is written first. The LinkedIn profile begins after the resume is approved, and each document has its own drafting window.

Turnaround periods pause while the studio is waiting for information, materials, decisions, feedback, or approval reasonably needed from you. Deadlines may also be reasonably extended by illness, service interruption, emergency, vendor outage, natural disaster, or other circumstances outside the studio's reasonable control. Impression Foundry will communicate a material delay when reasonably practicable.

If an engagement remains inactive for 60 consecutive days because the studio is waiting for materials, feedback, or approval from you, Impression Foundry may close it. Restarting a closed engagement is subject to availability and may require an updated scope or additional fee if work must be repeated or refreshed.

A document is considered complete when final files are delivered after the included revision round, or when the 30-day revision window expires without a revision request and the studio closes the current version as final. Delivery of all purchased documents completes the engagement, except for any surviving rights expressly stated in these Terms.

5. Revisions

Each document includes one revision round consisting of one consolidated pass of requested refinements for the target roles originally agreed for the engagement.

The included revision round remains available for 30 days after delivery of that document's draft. A change in target role, level, industry, or overall assignment is new work rather than a revision.

Additional revision rounds may be purchased for $95 each during the engagement or within 60 days after final delivery.

6. The 60-Day Rewrite Commitment

When an engagement includes a resume, the 60-Day Rewrite Commitment provides one remedy beyond the ordinary revision round.

If, within 60 days after final delivery, you have been using the resume and ask Impression Foundry to reconsider its overall approach for the originally agreed target roles, the studio will rewrite it once without charge. Active use means the resume has been submitted as part of your job search.

A qualifying rewrite is a substantive reconsideration of the resume's emphasis, structure, positioning, and language for the same target roles. The studio determines the appropriate editorial changes within that agreed scope. A change in target role, level, or industry is a new engagement.

The remedy under this commitment is the rewrite itself and does not create a right to a refund. Nothing in this section limits any right that applicable law does not permit the parties to limit.

7. The Resume Teardown

The Resume Teardown is a written assessment of your existing resume, delivered within 2 business days after payment.

The full $95 fee is credited toward any eligible package purchased within 30 days after delivery of the Teardown. The Teardown is an assessment, not a rewrite, and is not covered by the 60-Day Rewrite Commitment.

8. Technology and AI-assisted tools

Impression Foundry may use professional software, third-party services, and AI-assisted technologies throughout an engagement, including for research, analysis, drafting, editing, revision, formatting, quality control, ATS-related review, and other document-development work.

By purchasing an engagement, you authorize the studio to process the information and materials you provide through the tools and service providers reasonably selected by Impression Foundry to perform and administer the work, subject to the Privacy Policy and Confidentiality Promise.

The particular tools, providers, prompts, methods, and workflows used to perform an engagement are part of the studio's internal process and may change over time. Impression Foundry remains responsible for reviewing and approving final client deliverables, but does not warrant the availability, operation, security, accuracy, or continued functionality of third-party technology.

You remain responsible for reviewing final documents for factual accuracy and suitability before use, including any content that was developed or refined with technology-assisted tools.

9. LinkedIn and other third-party platforms

LinkedIn and other third-party platforms are independent services. Impression Foundry is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by LinkedIn.

LinkedIn profile services are delivered as copy and implementation guidance for you to apply to your own account. Impression Foundry does not require or request your LinkedIn password or login credentials. You are responsible for your account, for complying with applicable platform terms and policies, and for any changes a platform makes to its features, algorithms, availability, or rules.

Impression Foundry does not guarantee search visibility, ranking, profile traffic, platform compatibility, or any other result controlled by a third-party platform.

10. Confidentiality and privacy

Impression Foundry handles personal information as described in its Privacy Policy and Confidentiality Promise, which are incorporated into these Terms by reference.

The studio does not publish, name, or reference clients or use client documents, stories, or outcomes in marketing without written permission. Information may be processed by service providers and tools used to operate the studio and perform engagements, and may be disclosed when reasonably necessary to obtain confidential professional advice, protect legal rights, investigate misuse, or comply with applicable law or legal process.

No confidentiality obligation requires the studio to conceal unlawful conduct or prevents disclosure where required by law.

11. Deliverables, intellectual property, and studio materials

After full payment, you may use, copy, modify, and distribute the final client-facing documents delivered for your engagement for your personal and professional career purposes.

To the extent Impression Foundry owns transferable intellectual-property rights in client-specific original content created for you, the studio assigns those rights to you upon full payment. No representation is made that every element of a technology-assisted deliverable is independently eligible for copyright protection.

Impression Foundry retains all rights in its pre-existing materials, methods, prompts, processes, know-how, templates, questionnaires, workflows, tools, and other intellectual property that is not unique client content. You may not sell, license, publish, or redistribute those studio materials except as incorporated into your final client-facing documents for your own career use.

Drafting notes, research, internal analyses, prompts, working files, and other internal materials are not deliverables unless the written confirmation expressly says otherwise. Any transfer or license of deliverables is conditioned on full payment.

12. Nature of the service; no professional or outcome guarantee

Impression Foundry provides writing, editorial, document-development, and career-positioning services. The studio does not recruit for employers, place candidates, or procure employment, and it does not provide legal, tax, financial, mental-health, or other licensed professional advice.

The studio does not and cannot guarantee interviews, recruiter responses, offers, compensation, employment, or any other hiring outcome. Outcomes depend on factors outside the studio's control, including market conditions, employer decisions, your qualifications, application strategy, interview performance, references, background information, and third-party systems.

Except for the specific commitments expressly stated in these Terms, no warranty or representation is made regarding a particular result, response, ATS ranking, platform performance, compatibility, or continued third-party functionality.

13. Indemnification

To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Impression Foundry and its owner from third-party claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and reasonable attorneys' fees arising from: (a) materially false, misleading, unlawful, or infringing information or materials you provide; (b) your use or misuse of the deliverables; (c) your violation of a third-party platform's terms or another person's rights; or (d) your material breach of these Terms.

This section does not require you to indemnify Impression Foundry for a claim to the extent caused by the studio's own gross negligence, willful misconduct, or liability that applicable law does not permit the parties to shift.

14. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Impression Foundry will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, punitive, or consequential losses arising from an engagement, including lost income, lost opportunities, lost employment, reputational harm, or decisions made by employers, recruiters, platforms, or other third parties.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the studio's total liability for direct damages arising from an engagement will not exceed the amount you paid for that engagement.

These limitations do not apply to liability that applicable law does not permit the parties to exclude or limit.

15. Disputes, New Jersey law, and individual claims

Before filing a lawsuit arising from an engagement, you and Impression Foundry agree to make a reasonable good-faith effort to resolve the dispute directly for at least 30 days after one party gives the other written notice of the dispute. This requirement does not prevent either party from seeking urgent relief or taking action needed to preserve a legal right or deadline.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Subject to any non-waivable right to another forum, any court proceeding arising from an engagement will be brought in a state or federal court of competent jurisdiction in New Jersey.

Individual claims and class action waiver. To the fullest extent permitted by law, you and Impression Foundry agree that claims arising from an engagement will be brought only in the individual capacity of the party bringing the claim, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class, collective, consolidated, or representative action. This provision does not waive any substantive right that applicable law does not permit the parties to waive.

16. General terms

These Terms and the written engagement confirmation constitute the agreement between you and Impression Foundry concerning the engagement and replace prior discussions about the same subject.

If a provision is held unenforceable, it will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted and the remaining provisions will remain in effect. A failure to enforce a provision on one occasion is not a waiver of that provision later.

You may not transfer an engagement to another person without the studio's written consent. Impression Foundry may assign these Terms in connection with a reorganization, sale, or transfer of the business.

The studio may update these Terms prospectively. Your engagement is governed by the version in effect when it is confirmed and paid.

Electronic communications and records, including email confirmations and notices, may be used in connection with the engagement. Questions about these Terms may be sent to hello@impressionfoundry.com.
